Never boast about tomorrow. You don’t know what will happen between now and then. --Proverbs 27:1
This is a very good proverb to go with in your daily life.
Don’t worry about what may or may not come.
And certainly don’t tell your friends or frenemies about what you are hoping for: it just may not happen. Then you look stupid. Or like a liar, which can really hurt your reputation. Strive to do your best, make it happen, and then be gracious when the hard work pays off.
